Let me start by saying…
I’m not perfect by any means. I’m learning everyday on how to be a better self. I came to understand a long time ago that living with running thoughts and continuous self-criticism not only hindered me from being better, but actually made me less and less of the woman I wanted to be. I’ll get to my past another time, but let’s just say it didn’t lend itself to a smooth upbringing. I had monsters in my closet that I was drowning out. Adjusting into adulthood took me longer to get a grasp of more than most. Even through having a child and my first marriage, then having a child on into my second marriage, I was still a lost girl struggling to find herself. It wasn’t until I was 27 that I understood what I had been through and what it meant. Only then did I know who I was and what I wanted. Plus that I am an exceptional person just the way I was. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t wish my journey upon any person, but I’m grateful for who I am today and I know I wouldn’t be who I am today without going through every struggle and every trial and tribulation. One of the biggest things I learned was that I am one strong badass woman. I think as long as you are learning from what you’ve been through, whether your mistakes or somebody else’s, you are forever going to succeed in an accomplished life. Measure success as an internal devour. How do you view yourself? How do you view the people around you? How do you view your everyday life? How do you view the past, present, and future?
Food for thought- How do you view yourself and what’s around you?
